Ceremonial Tray Cover

This square embroidery, probably from Palembang, Netherlands East Indies, late 19th to early 20th century, was used as a tray cover or base for auspicious occasions like weddings, where trays laden with gifts would have been exchanged. It is decorated with auspicious colours and motifs.

Size : 63x63cm
