Sireh Leaf Holder

Betel nut sets were usually equipped with several implements to help prepare a betel quid. A set generally comprises a receptacle for holding betel leaves such as this example is delicate and finely crafted. Using repousse and chasing techniques, the silversmith has depicted densely set creatures and flowers in relief. The birds are set amongst large budding flowers and geometrical borders. This piece was made during the 19th century.

Blue And White Chinese Porcelain Jarlet

This is a blue and white Chinese porcelain jarlet from Zhangzhou, a prefecture-level city in Fujian Province, China. Circa late Ming Dynasty.

This small, round vase with 3/4" hole in rim at top (with natural flaw under the glaze), vivid deer design in two panels, crude base due to dripping of glaze, intact and much nicer than it sounds.

Diameter : 4.5cm, Height : 5cm
