Chinese Da Lian / Belt Purses

The da lian is a flat rectangular purse used to carry money. The two end flap pockets were reinforced with card and embroidered, and there was a hidden inside pocket in the soft silk. At first, the da lian purse was suspended by cord from the girdle, but later, the wearer used one of the flaps to hang over the girdle.
