Pending

Pending or Malay buckle is a large, intricately ornamented belt buckle worn around the sampin (a skirt-like cloth worn by men), to complement their baju Melayu, the traditional attire for men. Traditionally, the pending was a sign of wealth and status amongst Malay men.

The pending from my collection is made of solid silver buckle plate in leaf-shaped. The three pieces of silver coated with gold panels are then affixed to the buckle plate to decorate the pending.

Length : 17cm , Width : 9.5cm
